Ali Ghadimi
Data Scientist based in London, UK
I am a Data Scientist at BBC Audiences, working on large-scale machine learning and analytics systems that support strategic decision-making across content and audiences.
I have over four years’ experience delivering production-level data science, from exploratory analysis to fully deployed and automated pipelines. My work spans a wide range of machine learning approaches — including time-series modelling, classification and segmentation, behavioural modelling, and experimental applications of large language models — with a strong focus on selecting the right method for each problem.
Alongside modelling, I place a strong emphasis on production readiness and reliability. I actively work with CI/CD, testing, and containerisation to build scalable, maintainable systems that can operate reliably in real-world environments. With a background in data journalism, I am comfortable translating complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Focus Areas
Data Analysis & Insight
Exploring complex datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and meaningful insights. My work focuses on turning raw data into clear, actionable understanding.
Machine Learning & Forecasting
Designing and evaluating predictive models, with experience in time-series forecasting, classification, and model validation in real-world settings.
Python & Data Tooling
Building reproducible data workflows using Python, including data processing, analysis pipelines, and well-structured, maintainable code.
Data Storytelling & Communication
Communicating complex analytical results clearly through visualisation, explanation, and narrative — bridging the gap between data and decision-making.
